Dr. Belkis Perez, OD

Dr. Belkis Perez, OD is a South Florida native and optometrist focused on providing comprehensive, personalized eye care in a setting that feels both professional and personal.

Her interest in optometry began early. Growing up in South Florida, she was drawn to science, medicine and, above all, the anatomy and function of the eye.

Hialeah Senior High School.

Tulane University — undergraduate degree, 2011.

Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry — Doctor of Optometry, 2016.

Comprehensive eye exams, preventive eye care, contact lens fitting, myopia management, and the diagnosis and management of ocular conditions including glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.

Her clinical training at the Miami VA Medical Center and Eye Centers of South Florida shaped the thorough, patient-centered approach she follows today.

Communication is at the heart of her approach. Dr. Perez believes patients should understand what is happening with their vision and eye health, why a treatment or recommendation is being made, and what options are available to them.

She takes the time to listen, answer questions and build long-term relationships with the individuals and families she cares for.

Doral isn't new to Dr. Perez — throughout her career she has cared for many patients and families from the area.

After considering several South Florida locations, she chose Doral because it reflects the practice she wants to build: professional, diverse, style-conscious, family-oriented and used to a high level of personal service.

She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and her cocker spaniel, Atom.
